Xposure opens Gallery X on 20th December at Al Majaz Amphitheatre

SHARJAH, 14th December, 2021 (WAM) — The Xposure International Photography Festival, organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), is offering an immersive photography experience, and making art accessible throughout the year with the launch of Gallery X, a permanent gallery dedicated to showcasing a curated selection of works by some of the world’s best photographers.

With a new exhibition featured every month, Gallery X – housed at the iconic Al Majaz Amphitheatre in Sharjah will open to the public from 20th December, 2021, offering a unique opportunity to discover some of the finest examples of the art of photography and explore distinctive approaches to the medium throughout the year. The highly aesthetic collection celebrates the artistic excellence of talented emerging and acclaimed photographers worldwide.

Ahead of the Xposure 2022, Gallery X marks its debut with a stunning collection of photographic prints by two award-winning international photographers, whose emotionally resonant works are rich in stories. The new cultural and educational hotspot will also offer creatives and emerging talents regular academic programmes as well as expert workshops. It includes a café for visitors and an interactive reading area for photographers as well as those interested in the visual arts.

Gallery X will open with the award-winning images of two internationally renowned photographers, Francesco Zizola and Anthony Lamb.

Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of Sharjah Government Media Bureau, said, "The permanent exhibition offers a sustainable platform for amateur photographers, experts and the public to come together, learn and hone their skills through expert workshops and programmes which will be available monthly throughout the year."

"Gallery X aims to promote the position of Al Majaz Amphitheatre as a destination for art and creativity and builds on Xposure’s mission to provide an opportunity for the public to get acquainted with the work of globally acclaimed photographers and raise community awareness about the role of photography in our life. The exhibition is an inclusive creative space that brings photographers and the public together and enriches the cultural landscape of Sharjah."

Launched at Xposure 2021, Gallery X is a permanent gallery in Sharjah and aims to provide a new opportunity for photography lovers to come together, learn, develop their skills, and share expertise.

17th Forum of UAE ambassadors, representatives of missions abroad begins tomorrow

ABU DHABI, 5th February, 2023 (WAM) — The 17th forum of UAE ambassadors and representatives of missions abroad, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, will begin tomorrow under the title 'The United Arab Emirates, a Bright Present and a Promising Future'.

The forum will address key issues shaping the future of the country's foreign policy, as well as geostrategic developments at the regional and international levels.

This year's forum, which will be held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation until February 9, will include more than 25 sessions attended by ministers, senior officials, ambassadors, heads of UAE missions abroad, heads of departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and government institutions and agencies in various fields. The forum will address major issues in the fields of politics, economy, innovation, education, culture, advanced science and technology, the country's technological advancement, climate change mitigation and environmental protection in view of the UAE's preparations to host COP28, and future plans in service of the UAE Government's strategy.

The forum is held annually and provides an important opportunity for interaction, dialogue, and the exchange of views and ideas with senior figures and officials in the UAE, as well as ambassadors and representatives of missions abroad, on regional and international developments to enhance the effectiveness of the UAE's foreign policy.

President of Comoros commends UAE’s humanitarian, developmental initiatives

MORONI, 5th February, 2023 (WAM) — President of the Comoros Ghazali Osman has expressed his gratitude for the humanitarian and developmental stands adopted by the UAE in support of his country. He has praised the nation's initiatives to strengthen the potential of the Comorian people and help improve their standard of living in all areas.

The president of the Comoros made the comments when opening the technical training facility built by the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) Authority in Itsandra in the presence of Youssef Al Mazrouei, the Charge d'Affaires at the UAE Embassy in the Comoros, and several other Comorian officials.

According to Ghazali, the UAE is one of the main partners for the development of essential services in his nation. He also said that the UAE significantly contributes to the Comoros' growth through the various initiatives it is undertaking there.

He noted that the UAE has consistently taken the initiative to support the Comorian people in all situations and said he was grateful for the support given by the ERC to his people in all areas. He also stated that he personally follows the humanitarian and development initiatives carried out by ERC on the international humanitarian scene with great admiration.

It is worth noting that the technical training centre is part of a series of developmental programmes conducted by the ERC in the Comoros in the health, educational, and social domains. The ERC's programmes aim to improve the economic and social circumstances of vulnerable and needy families by giving them access to manufacturing tools that would make their life easier.

Mohammed Al Sharqi appoints Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi Director of Fujairah Crown Prince’s Office

FUJAIRAH, 5th February, 2023 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, has issued Resolution No. 07 of 2023 appointing Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi as Director of the Office of H.H. Crown Prince of Fujairah.

The decision shall be effective from the date of its issuance and published at the Official Gazette.
