UAE announces 62 new COVID-19 cases, 81 recoveries, and no deaths in last 24 hours

ABU DHABI, 7th December, 2021 (WAM) — The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced that it conducted 387,672 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.

In a statement, the Ministry stressed its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment. As part of its intensified testing campaign, MoHAP announced 62 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 742,438.

According to the Ministry, the infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care.

The Ministry added that no COVID-19-related deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours, with the total number of deaths in the country remaining at 2,149.

MoHAP also noted that an additional 81 individuals had fully recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 737,481.

UAE strongly condemns terrorist attack in Diyala, Iraq

ABU DHABI, 22nd January, 2022 (WAM) — The UAE has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that took place in the Iraqi province of Diyala on an army base, which resulted in deaths and injuries among security personnel.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) affirmed that the UAE expresses its strong condemnation of these criminal acts and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism that aim to destabilise security and stability in contravention of all humanitarian values and principles.

MoFAIC expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims of this heinous crime, and wished a speedy recovery to all the injured.

UAE expresses solidarity with Ghana, offers condolences on victims of Apiatse blast

ABU DHABI, 22nd January, 2022 (WAM) — The UAE has offered its sincere condolences and solidarity with the friendly Republic of Ghana following the explosion that took place in the town of Apiatse, and resulted in casualties and injuries.
