President of Chilean Senate visits Wahat Al Karama

ABU DHABI, 5th December 2021 (WAM) — The President of Chilean Senate Ximena Rincon, accompanied by Diego Paulsen The President of the Chamber of Deputies visited Thursday Wahat Al Karama, Abu Dhabi’s national and cultural landmark designed to commemorate the sacrifices and heroic deeds of UAE martyrs to defend their homeland and protect its achievements.

Upon her arrival, Rincon was welcomed by Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Executive Director of the Martyrs' Families' Affairs Office, at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court.

She attended the Guard of Honor ceremony, then laid a wreath at Martyrs' Monument, made up of 31 panels leaning on one another in a symbol of solidarity between the leadership, people and soldiers of the UAE.

Afterwards, they went on a tour across Wahat Al Karama and listened to a detailed explanation by Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan about the different sections in Wahat Al Karama, which embody the bravery and heroism of UAE heroes, as well as the nation’s noble values.

Rincon wrote in the visitor’s log, expressing her utmost respect and appreciation for the brave martyrs of the UAE.

UAE strongly condemns terrorist attack in Diyala, Iraq

ABU DHABI, 22nd January, 2022 (WAM) — The UAE has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that took place in the Iraqi province of Diyala on an army base, which resulted in deaths and injuries among security personnel.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) affirmed that the UAE expresses its strong condemnation of these criminal acts and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism that aim to destabilise security and stability in contravention of all humanitarian values and principles.

MoFAIC expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims of this heinous crime, and wished a speedy recovery to all the injured.

Ruler of Sharjah condoles King Salman on death of Princess Seetah bint Jalawi bin Saud

Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, sent a cable to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of Saudi Arabia, expressing his condolences and sincere sympathy over the death of Princess Seetah bint Jalawi bin Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

UAE expresses solidarity with Ghana, offers condolences on victims of Apiatse blast

ABU DHABI, 22nd January, 2022 (WAM) — The UAE has offered its sincere condolences and solidarity with the friendly Republic of Ghana following the explosion that took place in the town of Apiatse, and resulted in casualties and injuries.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation expressed heartfelt condolences to Ghana and families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
