Uzbek President Mirziyoyev re-elected until 2030: Preliminary results
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has won a third term that will keep him in charge of the tightly controlled, gas-rich Central Asian state until 2030, according to preliminary results released on Monday.
Mirziyoyev, who was running against three largely unknown can-didates, won Sunday’s election with 87 percent of the vote, the |electoral commission results showed.
