DUBAI, 23rd June, 2023 (WAM) — President George Vella of Malta, his wife, and an accompanying delegation visited the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation in Dubai on Friday. They were given a tour of the library's facilities and services, and were briefed on the latest technologies used in its halls.
The President and the delegation were met by Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, and Dr. Mohammed Salem Al Mazrouei, a member of the Board of Directors. The two parties discussed ways to cooperate in the cultural field between Malta and the UAE.
During the visit, the delegation learned about the Treasures of the Library permanent exhibition, which includes a collection of more than 15,000 titles on Emirati culture. They also visited the Business Library, which has nearly 25,000 titles on business management and electronic resources.
At the end of the tour, President Vella presented the library with a special copy of the Holy Qur'an. He praised the library's role as a unique model of knowledge that reflects the UAE's vision and commitment to developing the cultural scene in the region and the Arab world.
