Ammar Al Nuaimi chairs meeting of Ajman Executive Council in house of poet Rashid Al Khadhar

AJMAN, May 3rd, 2023 (WAM) – H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and President of the Ajman Executive Council, presided over a meeting of the executive council held at the newly inaugurated house of the late poet Rashid Al Khadhar.

The opening of the house serves as a tribute to the legacy of one of the UAE's foremost poets and is a significant addition to the emirate's cultural landscape. Visitors are welcome to explore the restored house and appreciate its historical value.

During the meeting, Sheikh Ammar directed the relevant authorities to continue restoring the emirate's cultural heritage sites and to promote awareness among future generations through locally-based artistic and cultural initiatives.

He was also briefed on Ajman's proposal to participate in the Arab League's "Arab Environment Capital Award 2023-2024," which aims to advance sustainability and establish partnerships to support environmental sustainability initiatives in line with the Ajman Vision 2030. The emirate's involvement in the award would enhance its environmental performance.

The council members were informed about the activities of the Global Network of Learning Cities (GNLC), a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) initiative that aims to exchange ideas and solutions for providing quality education for all. By joining the GNLC, the emirate would be able to collaborate with other cities worldwide to improve the quality of education and training, attract investment, and create economic opportunities related to education and knowledge.

As part of this effort, Sheikh Ammar instructed the formation of a task force consisting of the executive council's institutions, which will participate in the GNLC.
