SSSD, e-Government launch medicine regulator app

SHARJAH, 13th April, 2023 (WAM) — The Age-Friendly Sharjah Office of the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) signed an agreement with the Sharjah e-Government Department to launch a medication regulator application for seniors.
The app digitally empowers seniors through modern technology that facilitates their daily lives. All local departments were addressed to present initiatives in the interest of seniors, and the Sharjah e-Government Department submitted a proposal to regulate medication.
According to Eng. Khalid Mohammed Bugillah, Information Technology Consultant at the e-Government Department, the medication regulator is an app for seniors to help remind them of appointments related to their healthcare and schedule the doses of the medicine. In addition, the user can create a personal medical file, providing quick access to health information such as allergies, blood type, emergency contact numbers, and more. Information about the nearest available health centres, hospitals, and pharmacies has also been added.
Bugillah added that the app operates as an alarm that helps seniors schedule medications and access emergency numbers approved by the Sharjah government, including Sharjah Municipality, the Sharjah Electricity Authority, Civil Defence, Sharjah Police, and the phone numbers of the SSSD.
