DCD launches services for public interest associations and civil society foundations through TAMM Platform

ABU DHABI, 9th February, 2023 (WAM) — The Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi (DCD) launched and automated 5 services for public interest associations and civil society foundations through TAMM digital platform, in line with the digital transformation efforts in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, enabling all customers to benefit from the services with ease.

This initiative is part of DCD’s efforts, in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA), to harness modern technologies with the goal of providing easily accessible and world-class digital services to customers and all social groups.

The services shall include a request to issue a licence, a request to issue a no-objection letter to open a bank account, a request to issue a no-objection letter to amend the authorised signatories on the bank account, a request to issue a “To Whom It May Concern” letter to acknowledge the status of these associations, and a request to issue a no-objection letter for the participation of a member of these entities in a conference abroad.

Mubarak Al Ameri, Executive Director of the Licensing and Control Sector at the DCD, said, "The DCD, as the entity responsible for organising the third sector in the emirate, has over the past period made many achievements related to this sector and provided support in cooperation with the relevant entities, such as the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma'an.

Al Ameri stated, “The Department signed an MoU with the MOCD in 2021, in order to announce the commencement of the licensing of Public Interest Associations and civil Society Foundations in Abu Dhabi. DCD also has as reconciliation of 67 associations in the emirate, and building a comprehensive database for these entities, and holding introductory workshops for associations and foundations of public benefit on the role of DCD and the services provided to the entities, with the attendance of around 50 public associations.”

He added, “The automation of licensing services reflects the concerted efforts to enhance the level of quality of life in Abu Dhabi, and that the launch of this package of digital services emphasises the commitment to provide convenient and effortless services. We seek full digital transformation in the provision of services in the future."

The Executive Director of the Licensing and Control Sector pointed out that the DCD is currently holding awareness workshops with all associations and foundations, with the aim of introducing them to the services that have been transferred to the digital platform. The first workshop was carried out in the presence of several associations. Moreover, the workshops will continue until next March.
