MoI launches strategic plan for 2022 traffic awareness campaigns across UAE

ABU DHABI, 27th January, 2022 (WAM) — The Ministry of Interior (MoI), represented by the Federal Traffic Council, launched the plan for the 2022 unified traffic awareness campaigns across the UAE.

The move comes as part of the traffic sector’s initiatives to achieve the Ministry’s strategic objectives in cutting down traffic accidents through concerted efforts, in coordination with all authorities and institutions concerned with road safety and security.

The 2022 traffic plan includes four quarterly campaigns, which will be rolled out according to the traffic awareness programme.

The first quarterly campaigns will be launched in February under the slogan 'Safety of pedestrians and drivers from run-over accidents'. The second quarterly campaign will come out in May under the slogan 'Traffic safety of Users of electric bicycles/electric scooters'.

In summer, the third quarterly campaign will be rolled out in August under the slogan 'A Summer without Accidents'. As for the back-to-school period, the fourth quarterly campaign, to be launched under the slogan 'Traffic Safety for School Students', will be announced in November 2022.

The campaigns are implemented in cooperation and coordination with the Traffic Departments and Patrols across the UAE as well as other authorities concerned with traffic safety in both the public and private sectors.

These campaigns are aimed to unify and support local efforts to reach the largest segment of society, through printed media, radio and TV, as well as the internet, billboards, and holding discussion panels about the campaigns and the traffic values and culture they promote.
