Egypt’s International Date Palm Festival opens

SIWA, Egypt, 22nd January, 2022 (WAM) — Supported by H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, the fifth edition of Egypt's International Date Palm Festival opened today in the Siwa oasis.

The festival is organised by the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry in cooperation with the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation.

The festival sends a strong message that Egypt will always be a country of safety and security, Matrouh Governor Khaled Shuaib who opened the festival, said, adding that it comes as part of the State’s plan to upgrade the industry of dates.

Shuaib made reference to a presidential initiative to plant 2.5 million palm trees.
