Humanitarian work represents fundamental human value: Secretary General of ZHO

Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO), said that humanitarian work represents a fundamental human value—compassion and solidarity with others.

In a statement marking the World Humanitarian Day 2024, Al Humaidan highlighted the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in instilling the values and culture of humanitarian work.

“As we celebrate this day, we remember our father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the global pioneer of humanitarian work. This day is dedicated to honoring all humanitarian workers who tirelessly provide assistance and support to those in need across the world. Let us all work together to support the efforts of these heroes who represent the best in us and who contribute daily to making our world a better, more compassionate, and united place.”
He added that humanitarian work is not confined to major international organisations and foreign aid; it is also present in our local communities. The Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination has always been at the forefront in implementing and participating in numerous international humanitarian initiatives.

“For example, the organisation participated in the ‘Tarahum – For Gaza’ campaign to assist our Palestinian brothers, provided prosthetic limbs to the guests of His Highness residing in the Humanitarian City, and delivered hearing aids and wheelchairs to students in a school in Eastern Zambia,” he noted.
