DUBAI, 12th September, 2023 (WAM) — The Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI), which offers the region’s first multidisciplinary Bachelor of Design, and the German Consulate General in Dubai will organise an exhibition titled “Future Innovation and Energy Transition for a Better Life.”
It will run from 11th to 24th September 2023, at the Dubai Design District’s (d3) Building 4 Atrium, with the support of the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce (AHK), said a press release issued by the organisers.
The German Consulate General promotes international exchange and highlights its commitment to climate protection and energy security, which is at the core of the upcoming exhibition. Located in Dubai, DIDI is a non-profit university that empowers students to create and conceive solutions that add value and reshape the future socially, digitally and creatively. Its cross-disciplinary degree ensures that graduates have adaptable and flexible skills for a rapidly changing design and digital job landscape.
The joint exhibition, in line with the UAE’s Year of Sustainability, promises an enlightening experience, as it will connect different perspectives on innovation and creativity developed by DIDI and how these ideas can be conceptualised within the new thinking on climate diplomacy being adopted globally.
Sybille Pfaff, Consul-General of the Federal Republic of Germany, said, “Together with DIDI we will unfold in a compact format what tomorrow’s sustainable energy landscape might look like. I would like to invite everyone to visit our joint exhibition and delve into different perspectives on renewable energies, mobility and just transformation.”
Mohammad Abdullah, President of DIDI, said, “The world is at a critical juncture regarding the climate crisis. Leveraging academia to resolve sustainability challenges across public and private sectors can help us identify and develop innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing environmental challenges. DIDI’s students represent future leaders, creators, builders and innovators. Involving them in developing sustainable design solutions with public and private stakeholders enhances their education and provides a platform for environmentally conscious youth to build a safer, greener world.”
Five interactive cubes, developed by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, on behalf of the German Federal Foreign Office, will be the focal points of the exhibition, allowing visitors to engage directly with the content. These immersive installations will enable attendees to explore various aspects of the global dialogue on energy transition.
