ABU DHABI, 20th June, 2023 (WAM) — Bakhtiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, and his delegation visited the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
Saidov was received by Dr. Abdulla Al Mandous, Director-General of the NCM and President of the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO).
He was briefed about the NMC’s operations and infrastructure and toured its main forecasting centre, climate department and advanced training centre for meteorology students.
Saidov learnt about the latest technologies and methodologies employed by the NCM, which include advanced weather monitoring systems, high-performance computing infrastructure, and advanced data analysis tools.
During the visit, he showed considerable interest in the UAE’s experience in rain enhancement and water resource management, considered a leading global example, and witnessed an interactive presentation on the Earth’s formation in the 4D Science Dome, the first of its kind in the region.
Saidov expressed his admiration for the UAE’s progress in meteorology and commended the technical capabilities and advanced infrastructure of the NCM, which reflect the country’s commitment to utilising the latest technologies and providing the best services in this area.
