MANAMA, 7th June, 2023 (WAM) — The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, in collaboration with the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) in Bahrain, organised the 11th group wedding ceremony held in the kingdom.
The event involved 1,200 young men and women and was held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs in Bahrain, at the Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Hall at the University of Bahrain in Sakhir.
The ceremony, which is the largest of its kind held in Bahrain, was attended by Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Ambassador to Bahrain, Mohammed Haji Al Khouri, Director-General of the Foundation, and Dr. Moustafa Al Sayed, Secretary-General of the RHF.
Sheikh Nasser stressed that the relations between the UAE and Bahrain are progressing towards further prosperity and development under their wise leaderships, which prioritise their directives to continue humanitarian work and provide various forms of care for citizens in the two countries.
He then affirmed the commitment of both sides to maximise their efforts to support the Bahraini youth and assist them in achieving stable family lives, lauding the close relations between the leaderships, governments and peoples of the two countries.
He also expressed his appreciation for the foundation’s efforts to support the Bahraini youth, stressing that the organisation of the ceremony reflects the strong historic relations between the two countries.
Sheikh Nasser extended his sincere congratulations and best wishes to the grooms and brides who participated in the ceremony.
Al Khouri expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, as well as to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Court and Chairman of the Foundation, and H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, for their continuous support and sponsorship of the mass wedding ceremony in Bahrain.
Their support reflects the strong ties that unite the two countries, their leaderships and their peoples, he added.
The couples and their families expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the UAE, represented by the foundation, for supporting the mass wedding, lauding the interest shown by the UAE’s leadership in the people of Bahrain, proven by their participation in such joyous occasions.
They also stressed that such events enhance social cohesion, ease the burdens of marriage for participants, and contribute to building a closely-knit Bahraini family.
