ABU DHABI, 31st May, 2023 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, today attended the second edition of the ‘Make it in the Emirates’ forum.
Taking place at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre, the forum is organised in partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), and ADNOC.
During the visit, Khaled bin Mohamed toured the exhibition, engaging with both local and international companies that are showcasing solutions aimed at advancing the industrial sector and increasing its economic and GDP contributions to the UAE.
He was accompanied by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology; Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade; and Ahmed Jasem Al Zaabi, Chairman of the ADDED.
‘The Make it in the Emirates’ forum is aligned with objectives of Operation 300bn – the national industrial strategy – to support the growth of future and high-priority industries and enhance their competitiveness, create a relevant and attractive business environment for local and international investors in the industrial sector, drive innovation and advanced technology adoption in the industrial sector, and advance sustainable economic growth.
With the forum this year taking place in the run-up to COP28, there is a particular focus on sustainable industrial development, carbon reduction, and increasing the industrial sector’s contribution to climate action in line with the UAE’s 2023 Year of Sustainability initiative.
The second Make it in the Emirates Forum builds on the success of the inaugural event in 2022, which resulted in procurement opportunities worth AED 110 billion, comprising more than 300 products across a range of key sectors. The inaugural forum witnessed the participation of more than 1,800 delegates.
