Malaysian press agencies laud Abu Dhabi CP’s visit to Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR, 24th May, 2023 (WAM) — The Malaysian press lauded the official visit of H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, to their country.

The visit strengthened the ties between the UAE and Malaysia, which agreed to start negotiations on a comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA), several media outlets affirmed.

The media in Malaysia highlighted the long-standing relations between the two nations, noting that the UAE is Malaysia’s second leading trading partner and a key export market.

The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) highlighted the strong and constructive partnership between the two countries in various areas.

The Star newspaper highlighted the honouring of Sheikh Khaled by His Majesty Al Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al Mustafa Billah Shah, King of Malaysia, with the Darjah Kaerabat Sri Indera Mahkota Pahang Yang Amat Dihormati (Most Esteemed Royal Family Order of Pahang); and the Seri Maharaja Mangku Negara (Most Esteemed Order of the Defender of the Realm), in recognition of His Highness' role in strengthening the deeply-held ties of friendship between the UAE and Malaysia.

The Harian Metro newspaper stressed that the two countries are negotiating a CEPA to boost their ongoing partnership and strategic cooperation.
