SHARJAH, 15th May, 2023 (WAM) – H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, chaired Monday's regular meeting of the council at Sharjah Media City (Shams).
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed hailed the efforts of the institutions under the council's umbrella during the past period, appreciating the positive results achieved, which come in accordance with the strategic and operational plans set by the council, wishing success to all institutions in the next stage.
The meeting began with the approval of the minutes of the previous meeting, followed by an explanation by Shams, through a visual presentation, highlighting the most important developments in Sharjah Media City, in terms of commercial licensing, media projects and real estate projects, in addition to advanced technological projects, social media channels and external participations and events.
The meeting reviewed a video report of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority on the Authority’s most important projects and the developments in the decentralised transformation in human and financial resources. The meeting also reviewed the Authority’s participation in the upcoming exhibitions and conferences including in the Global Media Congress, MEP Com in addition to the Authority’s participation in showcasing new experiences through GITEX, and hosting New York WILD Film Festival competition.
The meeting dealt with a report by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, which included the most prominent figures and statistics that were monitored by the media for events and news reports at the level of the emirate, in addition to the spread of media materials on the geographical scale and the various media. The outputs of the professional diploma of the Official Spokesperson Programme, as well as the participation of the Bureau in the upcoming events and festivals including the International Government Communication Forum and the Sharjah Government Communication Award were also discussed during the meeting.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council was briefed on the visual presentation of the Artificial Intelligence platform that is being developed by Shams, listening to a brief about its most prominent specifications, its work mechanism, the method of feeding it with information, and the percentage of project completion. The platform will also serve many sectors in the country, including media, government and education. It is scheduled to be launched on a later date.
