ABU DHABI, 12th May, 2023 (WAM)– Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor, Ali Saeed Al Neyadi, Chairman of the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority, honored partners and participants in the Crisis and Emergency Management Summit– Abu Dhabi 2023, which was held for two days on the 9th and 10th of May at the St. Regis Hotel Saadiyat Island Resort in Abu Dhabi.
During the awarding ceremony held on the sidelines of the summit, Al Neyadi commended the great efforts made by partners, sponsors, speakers and moderators to ensure the success of the summit in the best way possible, further upholding the esteemed reputation of the United Arab Emirates in organizing specialized international events, especially as the summit brought together esteemed guests and speakers from all over the world.
Al Neyadi said, “The success of this year's CEMS is a challenge for the next edition in which we look to provide the best and brightest experts and industry leaders at local and international levels. We call on everyone to continue to provide the best and to participate proactively in all events organized by NCEMA to improve the work and develop the goals and vision set by the wise leadership of the UAE.”
The summit has witnessed an impressive active involvement of senior officials from the UAE and other countries, representing relevant departments, ministries and institutions concerned with emergency, crisis and disaster management. Over the two days, the summit discussed several themes and topics in the field of emergency and crisis mitigation with the best specialists and prominent thought leaders. In addition to these, there will be workshops and various discussion panels.
Al Neyadi honored the various distinguished committees and teams that made tremendous efforts in the face of the Covid 19 pandemic. H.E. also honored a number of the Authority’s former leaders, namely His Excellency Muhammad Khalfan Al Rumaithi, His Excellency Dr. Jamal Al Hosani, and His Excellency Shahwan Suroor Al Dhaheri, in recognition of their dedicated work during their tenure at NCEMA.
Meanwhile, Obaid Rashid Al Hosan Al Shamsi, Vice President of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, honored distinguished entities that have been certified to comply with the National Standard for Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) after passing all stages of the evaluation process and ensuring that all the system's standards are met. The ceremony also honored frontliners who fulfilled their duties and made tremendous efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Entities that were presented with the Compliance Award are: Etihad Water and Electricity, the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research, Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, Telecommunication and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, Ministry of Finance, Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, National Ambulance, and the Securities and Commodities Authority.
NCEMA also honored partners namely the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Interior, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as Strategic Partners, Emirates News Agency as a Media Partner, Sky News Arabia as an International Media Partner, Etisalat by e& as a Strategic Digital Partner, Rabdan Academy as an Academic Partner, and Trends Research and Advisory as an Advisory Partner, in addition to speakers and session moderators who were awarded with Certificates of Appreciation for their participation in the first day of the 2023 Emergency and Crisis Management Summit.
