Al Ain’s DAZ Festival puts a spring in step of over 63,000 visitors this season

ABU DHABI, 10th March, 2023 (WAM) – The 10-day DAZ Festival, which took place at Al Jahili Park, concluded with over 63,000 visitors enjoying the spring bloom and spending time with family and friends. The festival was organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) in collaboration with Al Ain City Municipality, media partners Emarat FM and Star FM. Formerly known as the Dar Al Zain Festival, this year's festival was held from 10th to 19th February and featured an array of entertainment activities for the entire family.

The festival offered exciting activities and workshops, delicious food and drinks, top regional musicians and immersive experiences. The historic Al Jahili Fort served as a beautiful backdrop for the event. Music fans from all over the country came to see performances by renowned regional musicians on the festival's main stage, from 15th to 19th February. Among the performers were Grammy-nominated Syrian singer Rasha Rizk, Egyptian musician Tamer Hosny, and Egyptian rap and folk artist Ahmed Saad. The festival ended on a high note with the electric Miami Band from Kuwait performing for a packed crowd of fans on 19th February.

The Dazzle House provided families and friends with the opportunity to make unforgettable memories and plenty of Instagram-worthy moments. The immersive experience featured five rooms inspired by the earth's wonders. The Pyramid Sphere installation, which combined technology and art, was also a highlight of the festival.

Kids and parents enjoyed watching some of the biggest Disney movies on the big screen at the DAZ Stage every evening, including the blockbuster Jungle Cruise. Teenagers had their share of fun in the Jungle Escape Room and the popular collaborative virtual reality game Duat.

Foodies indulged in a culinary tour of the world, with famous street and café concepts popping up for 10 days at the festival. From soulful food from London's original Instagrammable café Saint Aymes to local food concepts like Nap Pizzeria and Tiger Sugar, the choices were unlimited.

The DAZ Market brought together the best of UAE heritage and local vendors in one place, offering everything from fashion, accessories, and home décor to fragrance and beauty products. The market also featured special pods with workshops and crafts that celebrated Emirati culture.

Children had a blast in the Children's Play Park, which was filled with adventure, fun, slides, and swings. The Oasis Play Park brought a whimsical twist to the outdoors with interactive and colourful animal sculptures that doubled as slides, carousels, and seesaws.
