ABU DHABI, 28th February, 2023 (WAM) — The Khawla Art and Culture Foundation hosted renowned award-winning Japanese artist Juichi Yoshikawa, as part of its efforts to host international artists in the UAE and promote cultural convergence and dialogue.
On the occasion, Sheikha Khawla bint Ahmed Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Founder of the Foundation, and wife of H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, unveiled a classic calligraphy artwork in Arabic and Japanese in collaboration with the Yoshikawa, titled “Peace.”
Sheikha Khawla expressed her happiness at welcoming the award-winning Japanese artist, who has several international awards to his name, underscoring the foundation’s significant efforts to enhance the UAE’s prominent stature as a global cultural and innovation hub.
She also highlighted the foundation’s keenness to host international talents and artists, encourage artistic and cultural interactions, offer an conducive platform for exchanging ideas and innovative practices, and showcase Yoshikawa’s marvelous calligraphy designs.
“Peace” goes beyond being merely an aesthetically unique artwork, as it spotlights the aesthetics of Arabic and Japanese calligraphy, Sheikha Khawla explained, and went on to describe it as a message of tolerance and peace from the UAE to the entire world.
