Dubai Police organises public meeting in Hatta

DUBAI, 8th February, 2023 (WAM) — Dubai Police organised a public meeting in Hatta today to engage with citizens and residents and obtain their feedback on security and safety measures.

The meeting held at the Hatta Hall provided a forum for citizens and residents to directly engage with Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, and other senior Dubai Police officials.

Al Marri said the public meeting is part of the “#Dubai_Police_Leaders_At_Your_Service” initiative, which seeks to enhance communication with the emirate's citizens and residents and listen to their views and suggestions that can support Dubai Police's objective of enhancing security, safety and happiness in the community.

"Through constant engagement and feedback, Dubai Police will continue to improve and provide innovative solutions that benefit the community," Al Marri said.

During the public meeting, Lieutenant General Al Marri stressed the significance of involving families in the campaign to reduce traffic accidents caused by reckless driving by youth. He highlighted the dangers associated with illegally modified vehicles and urged parents to play a more active role in ensuring their children's safety on the roads.

Meanwhile, the Director of the General Department for Traffic Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei said that the Dubai Police has intensified patrols in popular tourist areas of Hatta to maintain traffic discipline.

"We are committed to ensuring the safety of all road users, particularly tourists and visitors. With the increasing number of tourists in Hatta, Dubai Police is taking proactive measures to ensure that traffic is managed efficiently and effectively," he said.

Colonel Mubarak Al Ketbi, Director of the Hatta Police Station, said that Dubai Police officials are committed to working round the clock to ensure the safety and happiness of Hatta's citizens and residents. "Several important topics, including Dubai Police smart services, safety measures, and community initiatives, were discussed at the meeting. Members of the community had the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback. Dubai Police will take their feedback into account when developing initiatives to further raise the quality of services," he noted.

Senior citizens, who were well represented at the meeting, shared their opinions and feedback with Dubai Police officials. They praised Dubai Police’s initiatives and expressed their appreciation for the chance to provide feedback. Such public meetings will help strengthen the relationship between the police and the community, they said.

The meeting demonstrates Dubai Police’s commitment to serve all members of society, regardless of age, they further said.

Lieutenant General Al Marri honoured individuals who have significantly contributed to enhancing the area’s safety and security including retired policewoman Fatima Salem Khalfan, the first female officer to join the Hatta Police Station.

Khalfan expressed her pride at being part of Dubai Police and having the opportunity to serve the nation and contribute to enhancing its safety and security. She expressed her gratitude to the leaders of Dubai Police who work constantly to deliver the leadership’s vision and serve the interests of the country and its citizens and residents.
