In his speech on the occasion, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid said the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan had the vision to establish strong armed forces to protect the country.
Below is the text of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid's speech:
In the name of Allah Almighty the Merciful,
I start by thanking Allah Almighty for his countless blessings, asking him to bless us with success and inspire us to continue our hard work for ourselves, our country and our people.
On the golden jubilee of Zayed II Military College, which coincides with the UAE’s golden jubilee, I extend my gratitude to the country’s leaders, whose vision, determination and giving led to the establishment of the UAE Armed Forces. They are the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Sheikh Zayed foresaw the future with his wise vision and sought to establish the UAE Armed Forces to protect the nation.
He also realised the best way to invest in people is to educate them, so he started establishing military colleges and institutes. He founded this college that carries his name. Zayed II Military College has continued his legacy and has proven itself worthy, as it produces armed forces recruits who have assumed vital positions.
On this occasion, I would like to point to the documents, titled, Principles of the 50, adopted by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which stress that the key priority over the next 50 years will be strengthening the UAE and its institutions. The country’s military establishments, including Zayed II Military College, have performed their role in strengthening the country over the past 50 years, and we are confident they will continue with the same critical role.
On this special occasion, I extend my congratulations and best wishes to this major establishment, which has performed its duty with full devotion and dedication for half a century, promoting the principles of Emirati military standards and teaching recruits the values of sacrifice, dedication and giving.
I also congratulate the 46th batch, whose graduation coincides with the country’s golden jubilee, for continuing their academic and military education and urged them to continue the process of learning and military practice.
I am confident Zayed II Military College will continue the glorious journey with responsibility and professionalism and continue to supply military personnel, headed by the UAE’s leadership and through the hard work of citizens who devoted their lives to defend the country.
Zayed II Military College will remain a destination for students from friendly countries, underscoring the UAE’s keenness to promote education worldwide.
