His speech is as follows.
Celebrating the golden jubilee of the establishment of Zayed II Military College affirms that the UAE is keen to promote learning and knowledge since its foundation by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. From the very beginning, Sheikh Zayed was aware of the need to meet the requirements of development and advancement, and maintaining security demands the establishment of a strong army to protect our development and achievements. Therefore, he sought to establish military academies, colleges and institutes to produce trained soldiers.
The launch of military education coincided with the establishment of the UAE, underscoring the firm belief of the Founding Leaders in education and its role in creating strong modern nations. The country, subsequently, advanced to impress the world with its outstanding achievements.
The rich history of Zayed II Military College highlights its excellence, leadership and academic contributions to the country’s achievements. It produced qualified citizen-soldiers, equipped them with military knowledge, and elevated their self-esteem and dedication to the country. It reinforced the country’s development process by training human resources who could play an effective role in maintaining the country’s security, peace and stability, defending its noble national values and by implementing resolutions of international legitimacy that contributed to maintaining peace and defending the rights of people to safety and decent lives.
Zayed II Military College is a major military educational establishment, not only in the UAE but also in the region and the rest of the world. It teaches advanced academic knowledge and utilises modern military training theories.
The college has always been the pride of the UAE’s leadership, headed by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
