SHARJAH, 29th December, 2021 (WAM) — H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued an Emiri Decree regarding the re-organisation of the Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club.
Decree No. (50) of 2021 stipulates that the club shall have legal personality and full capacity to carry out the necessary legal actions to achieve its goals and exercise its competencies, and shall be under the Sharjah Sports Council’s supervision.
According to the decree, the Club's headquarters will be in the city of Sharjah, and it is permissible by a decision of the Sports Council, at the request of the chairman, to establish branches in other cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah.
According to the decree, the Club shall be managed by a board of directors consisting of a chairman, a vice-chairman, and members named by a decision from His Highness the Ruler or his representative. The vice-chairman is chosen from among the members during the first meeting of the council, by consensus or through direct secret ballot.
The members’ tenure shall be four years starting from the date of the decision to form the Club, and it may be extended for a similar period or periods, provided that the board continues to conduct its business at the termination of its term until a new board is formed or the expired board is renewed.
The decree also specifies, by observing the relevant federal and local legislation, regulations, and bylaws, that the board of directors undertakes conducting the Club’s business and its affairs, and works to achieve its objectives, and shall be considered the supreme authority to execute its specialisations.
The decree also included several legal articles that regulate the club's work in terms of administrative and financial procedures as well as its organisational structure.
