Football and rugby kick off events before opening ceremony

The first football match of the Olympics ended in chaos after it was suspended for nearly two hours because of crowd trouble. Morocco beat Argentina 2-1 as the game was eventually completed in an empty stadium. Antoine Dupont shone for France in the rugby sevens as les Bleus beat Uruguay in the second match of the day after they were held to a draw by the United States in their opener.
