Government committed to ceasfire despite violations: Yemeni President

RIYADH, 20th October, 2016 (WAM)– The Yemeni government is committed to the 72-hour UN-brokered ceasefire, that began just before midnight on Wednesday in Yemen, despite violations by the rebel Houthi militia in Taiz and other cities, Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi said on Thursday,

“Over the past period and during the peace process, the concessions made by the legitimate government for the sake of peace were taken for granted by the perpetrators of the coup,” Hadi was quoted by the official Yemeni news agency as saying during a meeting with the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed in the Saudi capital.
